The Toronto Jr. Canadians took home the 2025 OHL Cup Championship in one of the most exciting tournaments in recent memory. The five-day event was filled with thrilling games and close matchups, including a total of eight overtime games. It was a Cinderella story for the Jr. Canadians, who had to win a wildcard game just to qualify for the tournament.
The runner-up, the Don Mills Flyers, battled through significant injuries but entered the tournament as the No. 1 ranked team in Ontario, fresh off a GTHL championship. The OHL Cup Championship game was a back-and-forth battle that came down to the wire. Fischer Ishwaran scored the game-winning goal with 1:29 left in the third period. The goal was set up by Cam Warren, who, with the assist, broke the OHL Cup’s all-time scoring record.
With no clear No. 1 pick heading into the tournament, it was exciting to watch the top five prospects battle it out . After a record-breaking performance and an OHL Cup championship, Cam Warren has only strengthened his draft stock. The Jr. Canadians’ entire top line—Noah Laus, Cam Warren, and Sam Roberts—was outstanding throughout the tournament, and all three should hear their names called early in the OHL Draft. Unfortunately for the Don Mills Flyers, their captain, Peter Green, was injured in the first game and was unable to return. His absence forced defensemen Caden Bell and Charlie Sullivan to take on even bigger roles on the back end. Both Sullivan and Bell were named to the 2025 OHL Cup All-Star Team thanks to their strong play.
Kaden McGregor of the Ottawa Valley Titans has solidified himself as a top-five prospect for the OHL Draft with his play. After an impressive regular season and playoffs, McGregor continued his dominance in the OHL Cup. He possesses a strong blend of size and puck skills that should translate well to the OHL level. Another player who seems to have locked himself in as a top-five pick is Max Delisle of the Toronto Titans. Some scouts believe Delisle is the most OHL-ready prospect in this year’s class.
With the 2025 season now over, players are looking ahead to the OHL Draft on April 11-12. BreakawayProspects.com has all the information you need on top OHL Draft prospects, including rankings, scouting reports, and highlight videos.
