Filip Ekberg / LW / Ottawa 67's

Game / Tournament Reports

2025 U18 Championship

Ekberg had a solid rookie season on a struggling Ottawa 67’s team. He took his game to a whole other level at the U18 Championship. Ekberg was named tournament MVP after a record breaking performance. He finished with an incredible 10 gaols and 8 assists in 7 games. Unfortunately Ekberg and his entire Swedish team were shut down in the gold medal game against Canada. Throughout the tournament Ekberg showcased strong puck handling ability and offensive instincts. He skated well and was effective attacking lanes to the net. Displayed strong chemistry with his linemates, consistently finding himself in the right spots to make plays. Ekberg is more of a finesse style of player. Filling out and becoming stronger will be key to his development. He likely will get a late bump up many teams draft boards. An intriguing prospect that could prove to be a smart pick in the middle rounds of the draft.
